Sell To Us
Do you have items you'd like to sell to us? Here are a few notes.
We’re always on the lookout for new stock, whether books or other items. However, we have limited space so we have to be selective, which means we can’t guarantee that we’ll buy what you’re selling. To get a sense of what we’re normally interested in, take a look at the items we show on our website and Instagram feed, or in our shop.
Please get confirmation of our interest before bringing items for our inspection, as we don’t want you to have a wasted journey. We will need to inspect the items before agreeing to purchase it. Once agreed, we pay promptly.
Condition is important but we may also be interested in derelict or damaged decorative books and magazines, particularly old atlases or illustrated books.
Valuations
We regret we cannot offer valuations by email as we inspect items before making an offer. We cannot value large collections of books, though we may be interested in buying a selection of them.
What to send us
For hardback books, we need to see images which show the printed title page, the binding, any inscriptions or book plates, and any areas of obvious damage. You should also include:
– The author’s name and the publisher’s name
– The title exactly as it appears inside the book, (not on the front cover or spine)
– The date of publication and/or edition number, if any
– Type of binding (leather, boards, cloth, dust jacket, etc.)
– Any major defects (tears, stains, broken joints, split hinges etc.)
For collections of paperbacks or magazines, e.g. vintage Penguins, Vogue magazines, these can be grouped to show the fronts, the backs and the spines. Please make sure that the titles etc are readable.
For other items we will need images that give an accurate representation, including any makers marks, or damage.

Response time
Due to the high volume of emails we receive offering us items for sale, we cannot always reply to every offer. If you have not heard from us within 7 days, you can assume we are not interested in purchasing your book. When we do respond, we will always do so by email.
